The University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) near Mead, NE is located within 30 miles of UNL’s East Campus. ENREEC consists of 9,500 acres of crop land, pasture and livestock operations. The center also oversees the following:
- Barta Brothers Ranch - near Rose, NE - A 6,000 acre ranch
- South Central Ag Laboratory - Clay Center, NE - A 640 acre farm for crop land research
- Haskell Ag Laboratory - Concord, NE - 480 acre farm for crop land and beef research facility
The Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) was formerly the University of Nebraska's Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead, Nebraska. Due to the unique location with neighboring rural and urban communities - ENREEC meets the diverse needs of Nebraska's rural sector and its growing urban population through the integration of research efforts and valuable programming of Nebraska Extension. Nebraska Extension includes 11 engagement zones across the state.
